Es sollten immer Farbtöne gewählt werden, die höchstens zwei Nuancen heller oder dunkler als die Naturfarbe der Haare sind. Für Strähnen empfiehlt sich ein Farbton, der eine Nuance dunkler ist als die dunkelsten vorhandenen Strähnen.
